Qingdao Baishan School Earns ICA Recognition Status: A Milestone of Excellence in International Education

⻘岛⽩珊学校荣获ICA“认可学校”资格: 国际教育卓越的⾥程碑

   

   Qingdao Baishan School is proud to announce that, as of June 2025, we have officially achieved Recognized School status from the International Curriculum Association (ICA) for both our International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) programs. This prestigious recognition places us as the only ICA Recognized School in Mainland China. It sets us on track to become just the second ICA Accredited School in the country by 2027.

   

   ⻘岛⽩珊学校⾃豪地宣布:⾃2025年6⽉起,我校正式获得国际课程协会(ICA)授予的“认可学校”称号,涵盖我们的国际⼩学课程(IPC)和国际中学课程(IMYC)项⽬。这⼀荣誉使我们成为中国⼤陆唯⼀⼀所ICA认可学校,并标志着我们正朝着在2027年成为中国第⼆所ICA认证学校的⽬标稳步前进。


A Journey of Growth and Commitment

成⻓与承诺的旅程


   Our ICA journey began in 2021, when we first adopted the IPC and IMYC curricula as part of our commitment to delivering a truly global education. These internationally respected frameworks are designed to nurture holistic development through thematic, student-centered learning that builds international mindedness, personal growth, and academic rigor.


   我们的ICA之旅始于2021年,当时学校⾸次引⼊IPC和IMYC课程体系,彰显了我们提供真正国际化教育的承诺。这些⼴受国际认可的课程体系,旨在通过主题式、以学⽣为中⼼的学习,促进学⽣的全⾯发展,增强国际视野、个性成⻓与学术严谨性。

 

   In June 2024, we took a significant step forward by becoming an ICA Candidate School. This launched a year-long process of self-reflection and program-wide improvement. During this period, our staff engaged deeply with ICA’s quality standards, focusing on teaching practices, curriculum implementation, and whole- school alignment.


 2024年6⽉,我们迈出了重要⼀步,成为ICA候选学校。这⼀转变开启了⼀年时间的深度⾃我反思与项⽬提升期。在此期间,学校教职员⼯全⾯参与ICA质量标准的研习,重点关注教学实践、课程实施及全校协同⼀致性。

 

   One of the most impactful outcomes of this journey was the creation of a new Mission Statement and Shared Vision for Learning, which now serve as a guiding compass for our community. These statements will continue to support our efforts through the full ICA Accreditation process and beyond, ensuring we remain focused on meaningful, student-centered education.


   在这⼀过程中,最具影响⼒的成果之⼀是制定了全新的学校使命声明与共同学习愿景。这两份声明如今已成为学校社区前⾏的指南针,将持续为我们在后续认证进程中提供⽅向,确保我们始终聚焦于有意义、以学⽣为本的教育。

Transforming Practice, Strengthening Community

改变教学实践,增强社区凝聚⼒


   As part of our improvement efforts, we launched several key initiatives in the 2024–2025 academic year. These included Differentiated Work Time (DWT) to personalize learning experiences and monthly Personal Learning Goal assemblies in the IPC, which fostered character development and self- awareness in our younger learners.


   作为改进⼯作的组成部分,我们在2024–2025  学年推出了多项关键举措,包括为个性化学习设计的分层教与学(DWT),以及在IPC项⽬中每⽉开展的个⼈学习⽬标集会,以培养低龄学⽣的品格发展与⾃我认知。


   Our teachers committed themselves to refining their professional practice, always with the goal of improving student outcomes and creating engaging, inclusive classrooms. This culture of continuous learning extended beyond the classroom, with leadership, staff, students, and families all playing critical roles in preparing for the digital recognition visit.


   教师们全⾝⼼投⼊于提升⾃⾝教学⽔平,⽬标始终是改善学⽣学习成果,建设更具参与性与包容性的课堂环境。这种持续学习的⽂化不仅存在于课堂,也深⼊到了学校管理层、教职员⼯、学⽣及家庭中,每⼀位成员都在线评审准备过程中发挥了关键作⽤。


A Rigorous and Rewarding Evaluation

严谨⽽富有成效的评估过程


   The official ICA digital recognition visit took place on June 5 and 6, 2025. The IPC program was reviewed on the first day, followed by the IMYC program on the second. Over the two days, evaluators conducted comprehensive observations, including classroom visits, lesson walkthroughs, and interviews with teachers, students, and families.

 

   ICA 的在线认可访问于2025年6⽉5⽇和6⽇举⾏。第⼀天评估的是IPC项⽬, 第⼆天则是IMYC项⽬。在为期两天的访问中,评估⼈员进⾏了全⾯深⼊的观察,包括课堂观摩、教学巡视,以及对教师、学⽣和家⻓的访谈。

 

   Though the standard reporting timeline is six weeks, we received word of our successful recognition just one week after the visit—an encouraging testament to the strength of our community and the quality of our program.


   尽管正常的评估报告周期为六周,但我们在访问后⼀周便收到了成功获得认可的消息——这⽆疑是对我校社区凝聚⼒与办学质量的⾼度肯定。

 

   The ICA’s report was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting numerous strengths and offering thoughtful recommendations for further growth. As part of the ICA process, we will now develop a strategic improvement plan based on this feedback. Our next major milestone will be an in-person ICA accreditation visit in June 2027, where we aim to achieve full Accredited School status.


   ICA 评估报告给予了⾼度评价,并提出了⼀些建设性的改进建议。根据这⼀反馈,我们将制定下⼀阶段的改进计划。下⼀重要阶段将是2027年6⽉的现场认证访问,届时我们将⼒争正式获得ICA认证学校资格。

   The ICA accreditation framework is not just about meeting benchmarks; it’s about building a school culture that embraces continuous improvement, reflective practice, and alignment with a shared educational vision. These principles now guide everything we do at Qingdao Baishan School.


   ICA 认证体系不仅关注是否达到标准,更强调学校是否建⽴起以持续改进、反思实践和愿景⼀致为核⼼的教育⽂化。这些原则如今已经深深植根于⻘岛⽩珊学校的每⼀个层⾯。


   We are incredibly proud of our teachers, students, and families, whose dedication, openness, and collaboration have made this recognition possible. More than a badge of honor, this milestone highlights the extraordinary learning that takes place in our school every day—and inspires us to continue growing.


   我们为全体教师、学⽣与家庭深感骄傲,正是他们的奉献、信任与协作,使得这⼀认可以及整个过程顺利完成。这⼀成就不仅是荣誉的象征,更充分展⽰了我们校园内每天都在发⽣的卓越学习,并激励我们不断进步。
